A "MSA" or "Meter Socket Adaptor" is a device, which
a technician from Satilla installs in your meter base. It protects--"standard
white mechanical equipment" within the residence--against power surges
that travel through the MSA. "Standard white mechanical equipment"
is defined as a washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer, heating & cooling
system (electromechanical only), sump pump, other pumps inside
the home, trash compactor, dishwasher, garbage disposal, stove and a stove
with an integral microwave sharing the same wiring. The MSA does not provide
protection for well pumps.
