Making landfall at 140 miles per hour, Helene moved across Georgia leaving a huge path of destruction in her wake. Yesterday morning, when the sun finally began to reveal the extent of the damage, I was quite shocked. As we began to assess the status of Satilla’s electric system, it didn’t take long...

Hurricane Idalia Update

We currently have 439 outages and 10,929 members without power. Our linemen have made outstanding progress as they worked through the night. We assure you that we will not stop working until every member has power. We appreciate your patience during this time. Please stay safe and stay away from downed power lines.

Satilla REMC would like to remind dove hunters not to shoot at power and fiber lines.

Power lines are popular roosting spots for doves, making them tempting targets for dove hunters. Shooting doves while perched on power or fiber lines may be an easy shot, but it could damage the lines and lead to costly repairs. Also, shooting at the lines is against the law. We wish all hunters a safe and successful dove season and don’t forget to use caution around power and fiber lines!
