The Satilla REMC Foundation

In 1999, The Satilla REMC created the Satilla REMC Foundation, Inc. to promote both community service and higher education as a means for students to improve their community and self. The Foundation is funded by Satilla REMC Members' "rounding up" their monthly electric bills to the next even dollar. The Foundation has approximately 15,000 contributors, and they donate around $90,000 annually.

Since its inception in 1999, the Foundation has awarded hundreds of individual scholarships to high school seniors within its service area. The Foundation has also endowed scholarships at South Georgia State College in Douglas and Waycross. Capital funding investments have also been awarded at Wiregrass Technical College and Coastal Pines Technical College.

If you would like more information about the Foundation, or if you would like to enroll in the Smart Change Program, call your nearest district office to enroll or simply fill out and send in a Contact Us form here.

For every account you enroll, your name will be placed in a drawing for a chance to win $300.00. The drawing will be held at The Satilla REMC Annual Meeting. You will not have to be present to win.
