Cracklin Cornbread

Ingredients:

3 cups self-rising cornmeal

1 1/4 cups "Cracklins"

Milk

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix meal and cracklins together. Add just enough milk to the mixture so that you can make pones with your hands. Grease iron frying pan. Put 2 or 3 pones in the pan. Bake until golden brown.

For softer cracklins, soak the cracklins for approximately 30 minutes in milk.
